Hello!

My name is Alycia Cypress

I am a junior at Syracuse University pursuing a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a focus in sports production and a minor in Native American Studies.

As an Indigenous woman and a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the importance of storytelling was ingrained in me from a young age. I am excited to combine my Native roots with my undying love for sports to carry out my dream of producing long-form documentaries for a major sports network.

Experience

I've been interested in broadcast and documentary production since 8th grade. Since the age of 15, I've been sharpening my storytelling and producing abilities thanks to multiple organizations and multimedia platforms. During my time, I've immersed myself in the worlds of photography, production, directing, writing and editing. Below you can find some of the main skills I have focused on throughout my high school and college career.
